Metallica return with a sonically powerful and heavy album. Besides the Coffin Vagina cover, the problem with the album is it breaks the Iron Maiden rule-If you have 3 songs over 7 minutes or one song over 10 minutes, it should only be 8 tracks long.

Straight ahead no frills power pop. Pershing is sugary sweet but free from the sugar crash after a few plays. Based on how many times I have listened to, this album looks to be a lock for my top 10 of 2008.
